Yes, windbreaker, poncho and fleece for September/Octuber. You'll need all three before your camino is over. I walked this summer in June and needed all three, I walked in August 2010 and needed all three. Never trust the weather in northern Spain.

In my opinion you don't have to be very fit to do it in one day, I wasn't and did it without any problems. The first part up to Orisson is the hardest and you shouldn't start out walking too fast. I am a slow walker and it took me over 9 hours to get to Roncesvalles but I arrived well before...
For those of you who read in Spanish, Fernando Lalanda has written a book about his first Camino in 1976, called "Sois peregrinos?" His was only 19 and did the walk with his brother. And there were no yellow arrows.....it's nice book, interesting.

Very true Sillydoll, Christmas is approaching and in Sweden we still see flowers in the gardens, and also the ocasionally strawberry. As for the Camino, you can be freezing during August as well, depending on exactly where you are, when you get those heay rains and winds ....be prepared!

1 On rainy days, having a "café con gotas",( coffee with "strong drops") at 8 in the morning just because my feet are already wet...
2.....a few hours later, don't mind walking with wet feet, got used to it
3.....singing happily in the pouring rain, never mind the weather, I'm on the Camino...
