I took the bus from Ponferrada to Lugo in 2011, spent the night in Lugo then took the bus from Lugo to Triacastela the following day to resume my walk on the Camino Frances.
Falcon, isn't Hierro de Cruz the highest elevation on the Camino Frances? I did the Camino Frances on Sep-Oct 2011 from Roncesvalles to Santiago.

I walked the Camino last year (Sep 2011) for 29 days from Roncesvalles to Santiago. I don't think there are many of them (intolerant, complainers, shallow) in the Camino. I didn't meet or come across one. So don't let the posts affect you. Go and do it. I'm doing it again in 2013.
