Unfortunately I won’t be in Leon on the dates you are there but I do have one suggestion……meet at The Four Lions Brewery pub/taproom in the centre of Leon. It’s near the cathedral and it is a fabulous place. Amazing craft beer (if you like beer of course) and each beer comes with fabulous...
Take a look at Hotel Rural Latorrien de Ane…..about 5kms from Los Arcos…..terrific in every way and they’ll pick you up and drop you back in Los Arcos…..just perfect!
Hi Mendo Girl. greetings from Newfoundland! I have walked the Frances twice, once in 2019 and a second time this year in May/June. My timing was similar each time. From Burgos it took around 9 days of walking to cross the Meseta to Leon. It then took a further 14 days to reach Santiago from...
I walked the Frances in 2019 starting from SJPdP and am repeating the whole thing May 5th next month……absolutely start in SJPdP, from my experience 2 of the best stages on the entire trail are in the section before you reach Pamplona…..don’t miss out ! Buen Camino
Hotel Maison du Lierre…..fabulous. Close to the downtown, boutique, intimate, inexpensive…..9 out of 10. Stayed there pre last Camino in 2019 and am returning in early May this year as it was so good ! A real find.
Best stamp for your credential in Pamplona is from the Town Hall…..just head in through the main entrance and tell the policeman on guard that you are a pilgrim and would like a stamp and they will direct you through to an office which will oblige…..best stamp (sello) on my 2019 credential by...
Do you not have to isolate at all ? Did you have to certify being double vaccinated? Only asking because I’m Canadian and desperate to head to the Camino. Buen Camino !!
I think it‘s their annual medieval jousting weekend. I walked through and stayed overnight there in May ‘19, the night before it was all about to kick off.
Picos de Europa national park in Asturias....hidden gem. Majestic salmon rivers, 6000 ft ‘Tolkeinesque’ peaks, beautiful towns and villages, rich history and culture. Take a look at the town of Cangas de Onis in the centre of the park.....awesome area !
Hello.....I would encourage you to listen to ‘My Camino - The Podcast’ (produced by Dan Mullins from OZ) episode released August 20th 2019 featuring Dr Nichole Taylor from the US......I think you’ll find it informative, interesting and inspiring ! Buen Camino !!
Me too....I was booked to leave St Jean PdP on May 8th to repeat the Frances after such an amazing journey last year.....have posponed to 2021......Buen Camino !
As we all hunker down at home, keeping the Camino spirit alive is great therapy and we are grateful for the existence of this forum ! The link below is to a relatively new Camino Frances documentary film that has been posted on YouTube which I think is terrific. It has been created by a guy...
