Hey lighteningstrike,
Fitness: Grab your pack, put 10% of your body weight in it and go for walks. Where you pack with the weight around the house while you do things. Also, I've spoken to many who have done little to no preparation for the trip and have had no problems.
Heat: Get tech...
I found this app after making this post and purchased a few credits to give them a try. I think this might be the best thing to do. I figure if I buy the 40 credit package and put my own pictures it will even be more cost efficient than buying postcards in Spain and then mailing them directly.
Hello Camino Friends. I fly out on the 12 of June to start the walk. I want to send a series of post cards to my 4 year old nephew as I traverse CF. I'm not concerned about buying postcards, but what is the easiest way to get stamps and post them back to the
US? Should I hit up a post office...
I can't see to find the post from a few months (or maybe years back) about what to give your friends or family if they want to mail you a letter while on the Camino and pick it up from one of the post offices?
Does anyone know how to do this?
Lol! I know. How dare they ruin the quite of the Camino listening to American rap on bluetooth speakers all the while recklessly whirling around selfie sticks that at any moment hit a real pilgrim. This is all in jest of course.
It was nice to see school kids on the Camino, but after...
I'm walking June-July. If we bump into each other, maybe you can play and I can sing a song or two. I do plan on packing a harmonica and either my Irish flute or whistle. I'd pack my trombone but that'd just look silly.
I purchased my plane tickets tonight for my second walk/pilgrimage. I hope to start walking from SJPdP around the 15th of June. Here is to meeting new friends and hopefully I'll actually walk the Meseta this go around.
Peace y'all!
Buen Camino!
I found this size of LocSack, which I think will be perfect for my on and off camino trips. I'll be hiking the Lone Start Hiking Trail in the Spring and this will be perfect for my guide and cell phone.
Thanks. I own some of these and they are great. Just not the right size. :(. I use the Large bag for holding my maps for when I go backpacking. Perfect size for those.
LOL! I'm sure he'll be on right away. They gave it to me with the credentials and a couple of copier pages worth of basic but useful camino information. I just assumed they gave one to everyone. Or maybe they gave one to everyone except you...j/k. They were probably out that day.
Odd Question about a plastic bag I got at the pilgrims' office in SJPdP. They gave me a plastic ziploc bag at the start of the Camino in SJPdP, and I was able to fit not only pilgrim's passport, but also my guide book and the other paper work they gave me. I no longer have the bag (I waled 2...
I keep being told the section after Astorga should not be walked alone.
The people I have been waning with ended their Camino in Burgos or bussed ahead to another town past Astorga.
I'm over at San Javier, Albergue the one near the cathedral, I'll probably start walking around 6:30 or 7 am...
