Thank you. I'm having the same experience of partially-full accommodations, restaurants, and the Camino itself. I'm not at a bottleneck point, which may account for the difference. However, on Booking I see everything from albergue bunks to hotels over €100 in and around Malinaseca/Ponferrada...

Thanks, I appreciate it. Since I don't have a brokerage account, Schwab wanted quite a high deposit when I last went in to check.
I'm fine with my current debit card, just want to be sure it will still work and to learn which Spanish and Portuguese banks are on Cirrus or Plus networks.
I've barely been out of the house for over 2 years, so before I head to the CF, I have a few questions and the threads here may or may not be outdated. My credit union has stopped being a reliable source of information.
Which Spanish and Portuguese banks with ATMs are on the Cirrus or Plus...
I found Astorga delightful. It's also reasonably compact, which could help you stay off your feet. I holed up in Burgos for 3 nights to rest my feet, but I think Astorga would be better.
Yes, my cats meowed while I was away on the Camino. Now they're over it. I can't imagine trying to take a cat on the Camino. It seems cruel to the cat and to have a high likelihood of a lost cat in a foreign land.
Granted I was walking in a heat wave and have short little legs, but I was exhausted and stupified by the time I reached Roncesvalles. I'd habe been better served, and might not have lost toenails, if I'd stopped at Orisson.
There are a lot of albergues in Sarria. Are there clean, pleasant albergues you'd recommend? We spent last night in a damp, moldy, mildewy place on the way to Sarria and don't want to repeat that experience! Thanks.
