Modest Private-Room Accommodations in Sahagun - Seeking Recommendations

I have stayed here a few times. I had lunch here in September 2021 and chatted to its owner. No sign that it was going to close. Appeared very sudden. I really enjoyed Hostal Alfonso VI when I was there. https://www.gronze.com/castilla-y-leon/leon/sahagun/hostal-alfonso-vi

    Don't grow up: It's a trap.

44 already. I remember when I was in my 20s. Tis a scary thought...time! I prefer to pre-occupy my mind with less important things :)

    Blanket clarity

Used to carry a light sleeping bag on my earlier Caminos during May but 2 years ago I switched to a Sea to Summit liner and haven't looked back. If I do get chilly at night, I just wear a fleece.

Your experience is as important as one who has walked it 5 times over

    A pet peeve

And this is why I ask folks who would not know much about the Camino to contact pilgrim societies or associations...folks who know these things.

    Meseta 2019

I've walked from Burgos to Astorga in both May and September and I prefer May. The heat is less of a problem in May.

Hornillos accommodation recommendation not meeting point

But I can recommend Neson....A restaurant at the end of the town. It is owned by an Irish lady. I stayed for an hour or so chatting away to her. She even asked if I would stay for a meal. It was very warm so I opted on walking ahead to Hontanas. Her reason to stay in Spain..Love! :)

Bercianos can I bypass to another town suggestions please ?

Agree! I stopped by the parroquial in Bercianos in 2013 and loved it. Although my out of tune rendition of With or Without You by U2 left very much to be desired. :)

Bercianos can I bypass to another town suggestions please ?

It's easy to find. Check out this site https://www.gronze.com/etapa/terradillos-templarios/calzadilla-hermanillos It is 26km from Terradillos to Hermanillos. Leaving Hermanillos, you will be led to Mansilla de las Mulas.

Bercianos can I bypass to another town suggestions please ?

The next town is El Burgo Ranero. I stopped here in Albergue Domineco Laffi. Lovely donativo. I stayed in Bercianos in 2013 but El Burgo is another 7km. You could take the Roman Way option and walk to Calzadilla de los Hermanillos after Sahagun but I haven't visited that town before.

LIVE from the Camino Meseta Sept 2017

I walked the meseta from Burgos to Astorga from Sept 5th. It was very warm with temps in the 30s. I found alot of folks hired bikes to Leon. I didn't come across one completo albergue - well actually no, Carrion de los Condes was full up by 2. The meseta is fun, I really enjoyed it but I get the...
