This of all sections I would suggest having your bag transported. Why have a chance of injury so early on? Those opportunities will come later. ;). The office in SJPDP has small backpacks for you to borrow.
You can easily find someone at the lodging in Astorga. I am sure you will not be alone in this regard. Please don't let this discolor your excitement - you are going to have a wonderful experience!
Abergue do Sol in Fenistere https://www.facebook.com/albergue.dosol?fref=ts Walk or bus after finishing the Camino. Short walk to lovely beaches and choose your perfect Camino shell.
I carried a 3 gallon ziplock and some powder, very concentrated, soap. A few albergues do have machines and it is a wonderful treat to be able to get clothes really clean. Some are free and some cost. Worth the $.
Yolanda - I will be departing SJDP on May 29th - I had initiated this post/query when I did the Camino the first time with my daughter. This time I'll be on my own. Maybe we will see one another on the way.
So this is Linda at the end of her Camino and I just want to thank you for all the suggestions. I used many of them.
Tonight I am in the ¨Hippie¨place mentioned before, Albergue do Sol in Fisterra. What a perfect way to end you Camino. If you have a facebook, search for them and ask to be a...
I wonder how many others, like me, did not know that this calendar exists! Look at the lower left corner of this page and follow the instructions of how to log in with the username caminocalendar and password peregrino. Super easy!

OK - I'm game..... Are you talking about being in a more urban area or is there something that I am missing? Are there some parts of the trail less safe than others?
Thanks!
I will be traveling with my teenage daughter. She is an incredible traveler and I trust her to go it alone during the day if she likes. Having said that, what would be the best way to come back together at the end of the day if we have not chosen where we will spend the night? Those of you...
Goodness! This has become an amazing collection of information! Thank you to everyone who contributed. As someone else mentioned, this will make a good list to just copy.

My teenage daughter and I will be starting on May 28 from SJPP. She is 16 and I am 57 - we are so jazzed about this trip, like no other we have taken. Looking forward to meeting everyone along the way.
Anyone else starting at this time?

Someone previously posted about "Coffee Break Spanish" that can be downloaded free onto itunes. This is wonderful for a newbie to Spanish or to review if rusty. 15 minute segments that are right on target for what we need for this trip.
I agree with others, a little Spanish, even spoken...
I am looking for those special Albergues that you past travelers would say could not be missed. Was there a memorable meal, experience, host, that you would say, "Go out of your way to make this happen." ?
Thanks! We, my daughter and I, leave the end of May for our first trip and are so...
