Last January Spain was still pretty tough to get into (tail end of Delta/beginnings of Omicron). I was with friends near the border (I live in Portugal) and just going to lunch in Spain we had to show our residency cards and vaccine proof.
We got ours on a Sunday afternoon at the Se in Lisbon - didn't realize that the cathedral's loja (store) would be closed, but asked and a kindly gentleman unlocked the drawer and stamped our credencials.
Actually, the first part is easy - follow the blue arrows towards Fatima (yellow arrows will be pointing to Santiago as you go). You can go all the way to Fatima and then figure out how get yourself back on the Portuguese, or continue following the yellow arrows backwards one the two paths...
You can get a shell at the cathedral gift shop (and a passport, and get it stamped!). Besides Decathalon, El Corte Ingles has a good sporting goods section - a friend of mine just got her sticks there.

I finished Baiona to Santiago on August 31st. Loved walking through the eucalyptus forests and vineyards, hated Vigo, and the entire thing was hotter than I expected, and I was prepared for warm weather. Very few peregrinos until I met up with the Central at Redondela, but I enjoyed the solitude.
I walked with the APOC passport for my first Camino, then with the one from Ivar for my 2nd. For my third - Portuguese in late August - I'm thinking of either the Canadian (my husband is Canadian, and he is my roadie) or Irish (to honor my roots). Is that too weird? Does anyone do that?
Is there a guidebook you would recommend rather that Brierley? I'm not planning to do the Portuguese for a couple of years, but since a girl can dream, I'm already reading up on it. Definitely planning the Coastal, fwiw.
