Hi all, starting from Lisbon soon. Where can I pick up a pair of relatively inexpensive poles in Lisbon? And can I find a shell to tie onto my bag anywhere in Lisbon?

Only saw old responses to these in the search - appreciate your help!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
For poles, Decathlon. I don't know about a shell though. Perhaps @jungleboy can help as he lives in Lisbon.

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Thanks! And presumably never any issues with supply? They should always have at least a few poles on offer?

A megastore in a big town.
No issues.

See details.

You can get a shell at the cathedral gift shop (and a passport, and get it stamped!). Besides Decathalon, El Corte Ingles has a good sporting goods section - a friend of mine just got her sticks there.

As a bonus, El Corte Inglés is literally right next to the Decathlon location that I linked to above.

Order the shell from the forum store if you have time to get it in the mail. If not - you will probably pass a place selling shells along the way! I am skipping the shell this time - the bouncing against my bag annoyed me last time and I ended up stuffing it in my outer pocket haha. I ordered a camino patch instead - now I just need to figure out where to attach it to my bag!

Hah good fix! I do have my shell from last time on the CF, but I’d love to pick up a new one in Portugal.

Yeah... I will probably get a new shell - but one of the painted ones you can find towards the end of the Frances route - around Sarria or beyond. I just won't carry it from SJPDP!

Beautiful indeed! I also have a much smaller shell at home that we found on some beach somewhere - should I change my mind and get brave enough to drill a whole in it!
I did that and opted for a bit of hot glue and a pin instead. I was afraid that the shell would shatter, and i picked it up on the beach outside of Aarhus while I was an exchange student in Germany my senior year in High School. I wasn't willing to risk it.
