Need advice from those before us

We ( my wife and I ) walked 31.3 - 5.5. 2017 from Lisbon to SDC. The weather could not be better. Only a few soft rain showers in three days. Cool wind on coastal route was lovely. No difficoulties in finding accomodations that time. Bom Caminho Btw. we are quite the same age as you both.

    Stamps on the Camino Portugues

There is a very special stamp at the albergue Pinheiros in Alvaizere. You have to stay overnight to get it, but it is worth of staying. Very hospitalyty albergue (IMHO).

We liked it more than we expected. Flat until Golega, the 1'st week, easy to walk on well walkable surfaces. After Golega getting more undulating paths, but no difficoulties at all. Beautiful weather and the time of the year made it even more pleasant. A lot of amazing cities, like Tomar and...

My expectations have come true. There really is a lot more pilgrims after Porto. But not actually any bedrush. Da Costa route is amazing and so well waymarked, that any guidbook is needed to find the Way. The weather seems to continue perfect for walking for at least next days. Bom Caminho

April in Portugal has been amazing, this year. Locals say: it's raining all the time in April? We have got 10 minutes thunder, that's all. It's absolutely up to the weather, at least on this costal route, that we are walking at the moment..

Today continued from Porto, the costal. At the moment staying at Labruge, a lovely albegue, renoved from a former scool building. No bunkbeds. Good facilities, donativo. Restaurant and minimarket just around the corner. For those, who start in Porto a reasonable distance to walk for the first...

    Camino Portugues hesitation

Some more observations. No meseta/dehesa. Quite a lot up/downhills, prefer to take poles, IF possible. Portuguese people are just great. Food is absolutely good and cheap. Example: where can you find a menu for 5€( 2 platos+ desert+ wine) in CF. Here in Porto those are almost every corner...
