My husband and I walked the Camino Portuguese from Lisbon to Santiago as our first Camino. We always tell people who ask, to begin from Tomar or Porto instead of Lisbon. Like others have said, there are more stretches of dangerous fast moving roads that you’ll walk along, fewer pilgrims, and...
We walked the Camino Portuguese in the Spring, and we used Camino Ninja quite a bit when we wanted to verify that we were heading in the right direction. There are many yellow arrows, signs, and we also had people from rooftops pointing us in the right way!!!

info@vialusitana.org This is the email that I used. They are wonderful! It is small and welcoming. Very clean. It’s the perfect first stop on your Camino.

My husband and I begin our first Camino tomorrow and will stay our first night at Alpriate. We will begin in Lisbon with a stop in Fatima, rejoin the Central then out to the Coast then back to the Central to Santiago.
