New here...Looking at starting the Camino in Feb 2014.

I have yet to walk the Camino, but I can speak to language learning! Rosetta Stone will not have you speaking Spanish by February. (In the long run, it might be helpful, but you won't get very far in the program in 2 months. Even under the best circumstances, RS has to be heavily supplemented...

    March 2014 Pilgrim

By the way, this is where I'm getting my train info: http://www.raileurope.ca/index.html

    March 2014 Pilgrim

We're arriving in Paris on Sunday morning. There is a train on March 16th, but it arrives in SJPP at 10:30 PM. So we're not yet sure if we can find a better route that will get us there earlier, if we should stay overnight in Bayonne, or if we should stay an extra day in SJPP before leaving on...

    March 2014 Pilgrim

We'll be starting somewhere around March 17th or 18th, depending on the train from Paris to SJPP.

    France-Camino: Mar/Apr/May 2014

I like the idea of using hose (cheap, light, easy to replace), but I find the seam at the toe to be really irritating! If I could find seamless hose, I think that I'd be a convert.

Im planning to walk starting 12 March 2014. Are there likely to be many others at this time of year

My Dad and I will also be setting out from SJPP in mid-March. I'm planning on cold weather (and *hoping* for not much rain - although that's probably just a dream!). I think we're going to pick up Altus raincoats when we get to SJPP. Hope to run into some of you next Spring!

    Booking a bed in SJPP???

Should people book a bed no matter the time of year? Or only during the busy summer months?

    Planning

I'm walking in March. So far, my planning involves reading this forum obsessively. Ha! I'm focusing on five things over the next few months: 1) learning Spanish: I'm kind of obsessed right now! 2) packing list: reading lists here, going through what I have to see what will work (budget is...

    Introducing myself

Another Canadian here! I'll be walking next March. I hope that you'll post your impressions of your camino when you're done!

    Now then

How lovely that you speak so many languages! I've read on here that once you do the camino once, you're pretty much hooked for life. I guess that's certainly true for you!

    Class of 2014

Sign me up for the class! I'm walking with my dad in March and April 2014. I think about it pretty much all the time!

    New Pilgrim from Canada

Hello from another Canadian pilgrim-to-be! I have to admit that I've put off thinking about travel plans. For some reason, actually getting there seems to be the most overwhelming aspect of the whole trip! So thanks for posting this question...I'm sure I'm not the only other Canadian benefiting...

    March Camino

Thanks tony! I plan on packing warm, since I tend to feel the cold. But I certainly won't complain if it's warmer and less snowy than it appeared to be this year!

    March Camino

Thanks for the kind welcome! The more I read about crowded albergues - and bedbugs! - the happier I am that we're going to be walking in the spring instead of the summer. I'm sure that I'll have a million and one questions...I'm glad this forum exists to ask them!

    March Camino

Hello Forum! My name is Stephanie. (I have another username on this site - stelrey - but I've stopped using that email address, so I made a new account. I would have deleted my old account if I'd known how. I hope this is ok. If not...apologies!) I'm a 35-year-old woman living in rural Eastern...
