I have yet to walk the Camino, but I can speak to language learning! Rosetta Stone will not have you speaking Spanish by February. (In the long run, it might be helpful, but you won't get very far in the program in 2 months. Even under the best circumstances, RS has to be heavily supplemented...
We're arriving in Paris on Sunday morning. There is a train on March 16th, but it arrives in SJPP at 10:30 PM. So we're not yet sure if we can find a better route that will get us there earlier, if we should stay overnight in Bayonne, or if we should stay an extra day in SJPP before leaving on...
I like the idea of using hose (cheap, light, easy to replace), but I find the seam at the toe to be really irritating! If I could find seamless hose, I think that I'd be a convert.
My Dad and I will also be setting out from SJPP in mid-March. I'm planning on cold weather (and *hoping* for not much rain - although that's probably just a dream!). I think we're going to pick up Altus raincoats when we get to SJPP. Hope to run into some of you next Spring!
I'm walking in March. So far, my planning involves reading this forum obsessively. Ha!
I'm focusing on five things over the next few months:
1) learning Spanish: I'm kind of obsessed right now!
2) packing list: reading lists here, going through what I have to see what will work (budget is...

Hello from another Canadian pilgrim-to-be!
I have to admit that I've put off thinking about travel plans. For some reason, actually getting there seems to be the most overwhelming aspect of the whole trip! So thanks for posting this question...I'm sure I'm not the only other Canadian benefiting...
Thanks tony! I plan on packing warm, since I tend to feel the cold. But I certainly won't complain if it's warmer and less snowy than it appeared to be this year!
Thanks for the kind welcome! The more I read about crowded albergues - and bedbugs! - the happier I am that we're going to be walking in the spring instead of the summer. I'm sure that I'll have a million and one questions...I'm glad this forum exists to ask them!
Hello Forum! My name is Stephanie. (I have another username on this site - stelrey - but I've stopped using that email address, so I made a new account. I would have deleted my old account if I'd known how. I hope this is ok. If not...apologies!)
I'm a 35-year-old woman living in rural Eastern...
