Hi all I thought I'd whip up a quick post partly to announce my calendar dates (I can never work out how to actually add them properly so this will have to do) and partly to see if anyone fancies a walking buddy. I'll offer a quick rundown of what I'm up to..
I have flights booked to/from...
I hear the trickiest part of taking a horse is trying to get it on to the top bunk in albergues.. apparently enticing it with sugar cubes is the usual method.
Porto to Santiago central route was easy enough. 10 days give or take plus you can add finisterra/muxia on. Which should give plenty of options to fill 20 days
25e a day should just cover it but depends how you spend.
I did it is September and it was spot on weatherwise. I guess march could...
I'm looking at VDLP but in April. It looks very doable so far.. Not sure how hot it would be around June though. If heat is a problem I guess you'd have to stick up north
I'd really suggest going it alone.
What happens if you have different speeds?
Or if you don't get on.
Or if one of you supports Manchester United?
Or if you meet someone amazing and your buddy hates them?
Or if you find a place and want to have a day there but buddy wants to carry on?
I'm sure...
Someone on FB has just commented that Orisson is now taking bookings for 2019 and they have their reservations.. they didn't mention how quickly they got a reply but it's probably worth trying now if you are wanting to book.
You know what you need? The perfect walking companion. Someone experienced.. witty .. good looking ... Someone who can detail your journey in a blog telling not only the truth but making bits up to make you sound extra amazing!!
I found myself on the camino. Unfortunately I forgot to swap contact details and have since lost touch. I thinks it's a good excuse to try again next year.
I'm 600km in and trust me, if I can do it then you can too. I know everyone says it but honestly you are about to have the most incredible time. From the people, amazing albergues that you never want to leave to the scenery. And be prepared to eat lots of bread and omelette!!
