I used the yellow guide in soft book cover in ‘22 and ‘23 with success. I loved this route as you get to stay in people’s homes. Most offer demi- pension. You obviously need to call a day or two in advance to reserve.
We did do the Genève to Le Puy over 2 years as last year came down with Covid half way.
I highly recommend it, its better if you speak French as I found the home stay people didn't speak much English, or maybe I never tried to speak English with them. I think you could use the current yellow...
Hello @ Tone-Lise, I also have those books. My husband and I start walking out of Geneva on May 3rd so we will be right behind you. Have 2 weeks to get to Le Puy. How about you? Hopefully you updated the list of lodging which is done by scanning the bar code in the back of the yellow book.
Thank you , merci. I am getting very excited about this route. I have 14 days to complete.
I see you are doing La voie d' Arles- that is on my list as well, will look forward to hearing about that trip.
Hi does anyone know if there is a special credential (Passport) for the Geneva to Le Puy route? If so where do I get it? Still wondering if anyone walked this in 2021? I leave Geneva on May 1.
Hello, I have the yellow book and had plans to walk in 2020. I plan to arrive in Geneva this May 1 and will try it again . Hopefully you read German or French.
I too wonder if anyone walked it in 2021, and would love more beta. I am just wondering if people will be letting others in their...
Hi I am planning on walking Geneva to Le Puy May 18-? (two weeks or more). Then wish to get over to Leon to walk the Salvador and Primitivo. I see there are so many options of getting to Leon by train, bus, plane, bla bla car. I am willing to stop along the way to make it more interesting and...
I just downloaded View Ranger app (free) and loaded the GPX files from http://chemins.amis-st-jacques.org/?page_id=6. Davey Boyd I also love Maps.me but it does not except GPX files. I will def look into PhiGenie. Has anyone done the Red route?
Hi Davey, did you use any online maps or know how to access? I plan to also do the route next year. Either in June or mid to late August. Any suggestions. I will get the yellow 2020 guide when it comes out.
