I've walked both in July/Aug. I did not bring warm clothes other than a beanie for the CF. I only suffered twice. I added a fleece for the Norte and was cold many an evening. Also, as the weather was cooler I did not need by water bladder.
Or: Book 2 nights in San Sebastian, take train to Irun with only a day pack (1L of water, snacks, etc) and walk back to your hotel. The only reason I found it a 'trying' day is that I arrived fairly late for night one and I was really jet-lagged while walking. Enjoy the food in San Sebastian. :)
I never had this fear on the CF or CP, fortunately only experiencing 1 completo on each. I am a little terrified of this on the CdN...and trying hard to trust in God (and try to book 1 day in advance if I seem to be in a wave). I will be bringing a sleeping bag as I sleep really cold, but no...

All 3 cities have a Decathlon. I plan to buy my poles & knife in Irun. This is cheaper than checking a bag on AirFrance and means no lost luggage. Just watch your timing since Decathlon is closed on Sundays.
God willing, I will be walking mid July to mid Aug 2019 from Hendaye.
Here is my 4.5 kg pack (before food & water) plus the clothes on me, please critique:
On me:
rain jacket
shirt - merino short sleeved
skirt - macabi
underwear
socks
sports bra
merino buff
1/2 UV buff
shoes
hair clip
glasses...
Getting there for me (from Toronto) would be a layover in London or Paris. London looks to be better timing and prices for the dates I want. The flight would be to Biarritz as San Sebastian and Bilbao are much more expensive. Then I hear it is an easy bus to Hendaye.
God willing I'd like to start the Norte this spring with one week from Bordeaux to Irun. I tend to average 25-30 km/day with some elevation changes. Reasonable? Recommended stages?!
