I am hoping to take a group of Duke of Edinburgh's Award young people to Gijon to start their Camino next year. What are your 'Must See' sites/places on the Del Norte?
The place that really blew me away was the monastery at Sobrado. A fantastic night spent at the Albergue in the monastery. Then sharing vespers, evening prayers and mass with the monks in their own private chapel. A really magical experience and the scale of the building and its history really...- hughb

Irun to Santiago
I have just completed the camino and averaged around 30 km a day which I found gave me time to see what was around and enjoy the experience. I left Irun on the 1st June, arrived in Santiago on the 26th and Finisterre on the 30th. An amazing experience, just do it. The amount of time depends...- hughb

I have just returned from completing the Norte. What a shame you never learnt to relax and enjoy the camino. I also arrived early to find it closed. Food on the Camino
Have visited rural Spain many times and have always found that the Menu del Dia is really good value at lunchtime, far cheaper than the evening. Is that also the case on the North Route and if so are there many restaurants? Thought we might eat lunchtime sometimes with an easy afternoon stroll...- hughb

Camino Del Norte in June
