Millbank filter, that takes me back to my Army days! I was also posted once to Millbank where the bag was designed. A little slow but effective and comes in two sizes for group and individual use.
I'm a GPS person, I like to know where I am and where to go. I produce my own gpx files and use them in various ways. OSMAnd is a useful app for using GPX files and Open Street Maps on an Android device, there are equivalents for Apple devices.

I am currently on the way back to Santiago after walking from Ferrol to Santiago then to Muxía and on to Fisterra. I used my shoes for the first 3 days only and have walked in my Teva hiking sandals for the rest of the way.
Get proper hiking sandals with a shaped footbed and strap supports...
And even my size 12 sandals weigh significantly more than a ladies delicate shoes! Much of the difference is in the sizing and resultant fabric weights.
Don't like Compeed, if it comes out of the side and gets on your socks it is very very difficult to remove from them. If you have a problem due to moisture or inexperience in using it, then Compeed will take your skin off. I would avoid Compeed!!!
You can deal with the loss of most things but not your boots! Wear them on the plane unless everything is cabin baggage. You just never know when that lightening is going to strike and leave your bag elsewhere.:mad:
Your Galaxy Note already has wifi built in so you should be able to use it without any other equipment. Looking under Settings and the first item is to turn wireless on.
I didn't see anyone using their smartphones while actually walking. But there are those who, like me, use them to contain guides, reference material, ebooks, music etc and consult them in the evening and possibly at rest stops.
