When I did the Camino, I was with my partner, so we took turns watching each other’s valuables, but I’ve heard some people bring an ‘S’ hook, that they could attach a dry sack or bum bag to the shower door or the rod with and that seemed to work out really well for them. Some stalls have no...
I took the Lush shampoo and conditioner bars and loved the shampoo but hated the conditioner, so ended up buying mini bottles of conditioner at the supermarket.
Hi Annie, one that automatically comes to mind is the down into Monlinaseca. I found that path to be particularly jagged, but I think that was about it. I hope you are keeping well. :)

I'm no expert, but I do believe having a backpack with a frame allows the weight to be distributed more evenly. I carried 10kgs and it felt as light as a feather because of the quality of my framed pack. It just felt more even, and never felt lopsided, etc..
Buen Camino
As others have said, not all albergues have blankets, and honestly, the ones that did could be very sketchy. I carried a lightweight sleeping bag in Sept/Oct that I attached to the outside of my pack so it was no trouble. Next time though, I will be taking my lightweight down blanket that I got...
Sorry if this is in the many replies above, but apparently a baby muslin works wonders. Cotton, lightweight and dries in a flash. I will be trying one on my next camino.
I asked this question before on this forum and got attacked severely! LOL. I would only use it in the bathroom, away from sleeping pilgrims, but everybody freaked out and said I would be crazy to take one because it would be too loud. I actually thought it would come in handy for drying socks...
It’s always better to have as light a pack as possible. I was way over the 10%-of-your-body-weight rule, but I had the most amazing pack that didn’t make my load feel heavy at all. We did cycle the messeta, and my pack that was on the back of my bike was actually very tricky to balance and I may...
I would take some flip flops or crocks to wear in the shower or to walk around town, to let your dogs air out. I would also take sunglasses and a buff (or a muslin sarong that can double as a towel and a scarf). I would also bring a charging cable for my phone. But that's about it!
While I'm sure this is a thing, I never once thought of this on my Camino Frances, and my socks are still in stellar condition, almost 5 years later. I just washed them and wore them, not even thinking there should have been assigned sockage. I wore the lined merino wool ones and they were fab...
Hi there, fellow pilgrims!
I’m just wondering if anyone has tried these shoe gloves? They certainly would have come in handy when we hiked through Galicia;

I’m thinking of doing another Camino and was...
I took my iPad mini because it took much better pictures than my phone at the time, and then decided because I was bringing that, why not download some books as well?? I did read most nights, even if it was only just a few pages, and then it was lights out. The only caveat is to make sure that...
I was mocked mercilessly when I asked this question before. Lots of people take a ‘luxury’ item, so why not a small, lightweight hair dryer?! I would take one next time though, but use it in the bathroom only. I think it could come in handy to dry still-wet socks in the morning!
Buen Camino!
Well, I was mocked mercilessly when I brought this up a while ago on this forum! Lol. Lots of people bring a luxury item, so I would say this could be yours. I would only advise you NOT to use it even remotely close to where sleeping pilgrims lie. I was going to bring one, not for my hair, but...
If you shower as soon as you get to your albergue, your hair should be dry by the time you go to bed. But if not, you can just throw in a buff and you’ll be golden. No one will care what your had looks like, but, you can always wet it in the morning before heading out. BUT, no blow drying in the...
I loved my 55L Black Diamond Onyx pack! It sounds huge, but as you can see in my profile pic, it can be made a whole lot smaller by cinching in the many straps. I carried 10kgs on my back but it didn't feel that heavy, thanks to the suspension it has and the swiveling hip belt.
I’m basing this on my own experience, but I would take the down jacket and the rain jacket and leave the poncho at home. I hemmed and hawed over taking my packable down jacket but I didn’t (and regretted it!) and had to buy a fleece in Portomorin. I bought a cheap poncho a day before entering...
