I can't think of a simple solution. As you know, unlike the Camino Frances, taxis, bag forwarding companies, albergues, water sources and other basic infrastructure needs are in short supply on the VdlP. Permethrin Spraying Question
My approach was to treat Permethrin as something that would be effective for about 30 to 40 days after application and that it would quickly lose its effectiveness after washing. So, since I would be washing my clothes, there was little sense in applying the chemical to my shirts, pants, etc...- bsewall

Gaiters in late April & May walking the Camino.
Took gaiters with me as I walked from Sevilla up to Astorga and on to Santiago this Spring. Used them only once. I agree with the comments above about gaiters being overkill.
