I wore a pair of Toms on my first Camino. They're light and comfortable. Plus when you buy a pair, a pair goes to someone in need. Check them out at https://www.toms.com/women/classic-alpargatas. Might not be great in the wet though.
With the foam earplugs, I didn't think they were very good until I actually read the instructions on the packet where they say to twist them and then insert them into your ears. After that they worked a treat.
I've tried both and prefer a 1L Nalgene water bottle over the bladder. I can see how much is left, refill it quickly at any of the fountains, restaurants etc. and can share it easily with other pilgrims should the need arise. Plus it was super-easy to fill up from the wine fountain too :)
I found TOMS slip-ons a perfect, lightweight alternative to thongs etc. AND when you buy a pair they give a pair to children in need. Everyone wins...just don't wear them in the shower.
Mixed views on this one. Pack them in the pack rather than outside and be prepared to leave them behind if the airline says no. You can grab new ones when you get there if need be.
I know that Paddy Pallin distribute Icebreaker socks here in Sydney as I've bought them from there myself. They would be the best bet for the actual Icebreaker brand. If you are in the Sydney CBD I would head to the corner of Kent and Bathurst Sts. There are about six different outdoors shops...

I have a pair of Oboz Firebrand II. I wore these on my first Camino (Leon to SDC) and I'll be wearing them on my next one. I've done hundreds of KMs in them and have never had a problem. I've also never lost a toenail so you know that the toe box has plenty of room. They are built tough and...
Hi y'all!
I picked up one of these sweet Burghaus Freeflow 40L packs from Mountain Designs yesterday for half price! I have an Osprey Kestrel 38L however on my last Camino I lost so much weight I was too thin for the waist straps, so I was carrying all my weight on my shoulders! And that was...
Osprey Kestrel 38L. I used it on my last Camino and I'll be using it again this time around. If you need a bigger pack than this then you are taking too much stuff. I hope this helps. I'll also be starting in April next year so I may see you out there!
