I actually found the descent into Molinaseca quite enjoyable. I would agree that the descent into Zubiri is tough to say the least. I walked it last in 2014 and still remember it vividly.
I usually wear Merrell or Saloman. Make sure the sole gives you good protection.
Sticks or poles are not...
I haven't walked past Sarria in 6 years. I prefer the Camino without the hustle and the bustle. However, I am returning to Galicia in September 2018 with my brother who is walking the Camino for the first time. He has chosen to have his bags transported despite being fit and well. My comments...
A friend of mine asked me why I carry my backpack every day and that surely it is easier to transport it. I think more and more people are finding reasons "not" to carry a backpack. Obviously I exclude the elderly and unwell.
But I would have to be very unwell to have my backpack transported. I...
I own a Lowe Alpine 35L but after my recent Camino, I am looking for a change.
The Osprey Talon 33 really interests me.
Are there any Irish folks here who know of a store who stock it in Dublin / Ireland?
I'd rather check it out first than order it online and send it back if it does not suit...
Hi Colleen @LesBrass like Nuala above, I wear Brooks Cascadia 10 and have worn them on a few long walks. I will be wearing them on the Camino Finisterre next week. Before those, I wore trail runners, mainly due to their breath-ability and their lightness. But its all down to personal choice I...
Hi guys
Last night I won a voucher to purchase a pair of Brooks runners / trail shoes. My first thought was "What brand are these?" and after doing a good search online, these seem to be well recommended.
On my numerous Caminos, I have always chosen Colombia, North Face, Soloman shoes, however...
Very good question.
Last time round I carried a sleeping bag, next time I will carry a liner thus giving me a little more space.
My 30 litre bag will remain unchanged but all in all I don't see much change from my last Camino in May.
Sure beats what I carried on my first Camino in 2011 when I...
I brought along 2 pairs of under armour quick dry briefs. They dry super quick, no chaffing but were a little more expensive than normal.
I learnt the hard way. Experienced chaffing in 2011 with cotton UW.
I have the fitbit flex and love it. Have used it on one previous Camino.
It can be a bit awkward charging every 5 or so days but that can be gotten over.
There is another thread active about fitbits...
