I had masses of trouble with dogs in France. Not sure why, I think they just didn't like me, my mum would walk past fine and then the hounds of hell would come hightailing after me like crazy. Often they appeared out of nowhere so it's not like I looked at them...
Highly recommended from 3 and a half camino trips....

OMM packs, designed for competition, very lightweight!
I have a 32L Classic which is possibly just a little too small for camino packing but I tend to strap extras like food/tents etc to the outside...
I think it depends on the person and how cold you feel generally but personally i've always been FREEZING in May on the Frances. Not so much walking, in fact I find I get quite hot walking and even in the rain will happily wear a very thin layer shirt underneath a poncho, or even just get wet...

I've taken a Powermonkey on 4 camino journeys and would highly recommend them. They can charge most devices in a variety of ways. I usually found a combination of charging from power points in albergues and solar-powering en-route would keep my devices going but if you do spot a computer with a...
The OMM packs are nice and light:

Also I find however big your backpack is you'll tend to naturally fill it up. If you take a smaller one you will end up carrying less.
To be honest I think all pilgrims just smell... certainly after the first few days. Just be pleased you're not medieval - all the way in one set of clothes and no washing til lavacolla!
I think the general rule for camping mats is that you don't need to take one unless you are actually camping!
My understanding is that regulations for albergues often mean that you can no longer sleep packed in on the floor on mats. I wouldn't bother carrying one if I were you - it's just some...
I've walked two caminos in two different pairs of these boots. They're great boots!
As for blisters etc get some "NOK". It's a cream, french I think (or french-canadian?) anyhow I wouldn't walk anywhere without it. Transformed my life on the Le Puy route once I bought some!!! :D
Of course it depends on the person and also the season. As John says this is a pretty popular question. More than anything the answer is that it doesn't really matter as long as they are COMFORTABLE! :)
Hi, I have a super excellent power-monkey. I've jused it two years running, it works like a battery cell - charges up when you find power and you can plug it into your devices whenever. It comes with lots of adapters for phones, it also did my ipod and some cameras. It powers itself from power...
Hi. I would go for clothing that feels comfortable. Definately try walking in the clothes first wearing a backpack to check out any potential rubbing/chaffing. I've actually found a pair of trousers I bought in evans (outsize clothing store - UK) far far better for walking in both lightweight...
I'm thinking of taking a tent this year for the first time. Does anyone have reccomendations for a lightweight carry-able tent that doesn't cost the earth? I'm really unsure where to start.
I'm in the UK if that makes a difference..
Haha! Sorry this post had me giggling! I don't think you need to worry too much! I've done 2 camino trips with long hair and I've never even thought about a hair dryer. If you're lucky it'll be sunny and you can let the sun dry your hair. If you're unlucky and its raining then it won't matter as...
