Vodafone Tourist Sim - Reviews?
Does this sim work on the Portuguese for both Portugal and Spain or are separate ones needed for each country? Any ideas too on whether one can buy the Vodafone sim at Lisbon airport? Thanks- richeyboy

September 2014, when to start looking for footwear?
Hi Pippa, As you are finding out there is as much advice as there are pilgrims. I found out 2 things; don't try and save money on boots, on everything else maybe but not on boots. Spend as much as you can afford and I have found that the ones I have (Meindl)are going way beyond a 1000 miles and...- richeyboy

Meindl Respond Mid XCR
Yes I used these boots when I did the camino in 2011 and they were ideal for it; very robust with excellent support and shock absorbtion so brilliant for the varied surfaces you walk on from treacherous steep goat tracks to a lot of pavement, they were excellent in the heat - we had many days...- richeyboy

Boots
I have been using standard leather boots with goretex for all the walking (cross country, mountains and roads/tracks) I have done so far however my current much loved pair is ending its live and I shall need to replace them before I do the Camino next year.
