Best part in my opinion was Asturias region starting from Muros de Nalon. From there the Norte has a lot of natural terrain walking.
Everything between Bilbao to Aviles was asphalt pretty much, but it makes sense if weather is not so good. Was not a huge fan of the asphalt. Therefore I...
I am also building up a playlist of Youtube shorts of Norte 2023. I think I have them all done quite fast.
Just throwing together raw video footage of under 1 min for each day of the Norte. This should give an especially authentic secondhand experience:
Ever since you rech Bilbao its pretty much all asphalt. I used Buen Camino app to know what the road surface for certain stretches are.
The shortest routes on Norte (after Bilbao) are usually highway style roadwalks. The deeper you get into Asturias region, the more you get oceanside natural...
Norte 2023 was the first time I actually put some training into Camino. I walked a lot of stairs at home, a lot.
First week in Spain was mountains and mud. After that it was pratically all asphalt. I took as many coastline alternatives as I could.:
My third Camino was originally supposed to be Camino Norte. Last minute issues threw that idea completely on its head and just 24h before my flight left, I decided to try Camino Frances once again. The first time on the Frances was just 5 years earlier. I did eventually get to do the Norte a...
I just published the video of my 2022 year Camino Frances.
This one I was really happy with since shoes and physiotherapy had helped me a lot. It should be better than the first video, since here are also distances + comments from daily blog entries:
I hope you will have a great experience with Portugual! Just be prepared that there are almost no pilgrims before Porto and all of Portugal has mostly hard surface walking.
Thanks Rita! It was my shortest average daily distance Camino so far. Even on the Norte I walked more daily.
I think the main issue for Portugues was that I picked waterproof hiking shoes to walk in. I should have worn super breathable sneakers for the walk from Lisbon.
These days I am doing...
I have my 2022 Frances video with texts details in the works. 2023 Norte also. For both of them I also did a lot of short video clips that were temporarily on Instagram.
I might use my favorite nature scenes from each day for a standalone video. Not sure yet. First will complete doing all...
Just a few days ago I finished my first Camino video. That one was about Camino Frances. The first Camino got me addicted. Two years later I was back on the Camino - this time I started walking from Lisbon.
For the second video I added also daily walking information and 1+ ideas from my blog...
Thanks for all the positive feedback. It means a lot.
I want to do my video about Camino Portuguese (2019) an even better one. I am thinking of showcasing daily distances so people can locate better in their mind of where the places are + one thought I had from that day.
VdlP I will start...
It took me years to get myself together and build this 10 minute slideshow of my favorite images from the first Camino I had.
I hope others also enjoy this and it will bring back memories.
Hopefully my Youtube channel will soon see also the other adventures:
I started Norte in mid May 2023 and finished in June. I was travelling extremely light with just a 20L daypack to hold all my gear, water and food.
My daily adventures as stories and single images in blog format (it took 29 days from Irun to Santiago on foot)...
