Right quad pain, ok to push through or something to be worried about?

I wonder if this is related to your earlier shoe issues and the blisters on the side of your feet. Perhaps trying to avoid the blister pain led to you subconsciously change your walking gait which has stressed your muscles. That being said, I am not a doctor!

    Travel Insurance for Americans

Definitely better and cheaper than US healthcare but the evac insurance covers stuff like needing a helicopter to bring you to a hospital (some countries like NZ don't charge for this, even for tourists). And then getting you home if you aren't ambulatory and/or can't sit in a regular coach seat...

    Travel Insurance for Americans

I have been using SevenCorners for the past few years though I have never had to file a claim. Options available depend on the state you live in. My main priority for travel insurance is medical and evacuation coverage. I don't get the trip cancellation coverage etc. On the Seven Corners site...

Tips for walking in the heat

If you are planning on starting early in the morning, when it is still dark, consider attaching a reflector to your backpack to make it easier for you to be spotted by motorists. There is a lot of road walking on the Camino!

    Knee pain...help!

Maybe see a PT to get a good analysis of the cause. Pain in different areas of the knee can indicate different causes. I had pain on the outside of my knee which was from an irritated IT band. I spent a lot of time working on strengthening my glutes which made life a lot easier for me. I also...

LIVE from the Camino What CAN’T go in the dryer when treating for bed bugs?

Bed bugs don't care which bed you are on. Chose based on your comfort level.

LIVE from the Camino What CAN’T go in the dryer when treating for bed bugs?

Good idea. It sucks to pass them to another lodging but it could be devastating to bring them into your home!

LIVE from the Camino What CAN’T go in the dryer when treating for bed bugs?

Don't beat yourself up for not being able to spot them during an arrival inspection. They are so tiny and can literally be anywhere you can fit the edge of a credit card (I once found a nymph crawling out of a crack on my Kindle!). You will go crazy trying to prove a negative. For the future...

    blood tests

Try doing a Google search for a medical facility that caters to expats, preferably along the Camino, and email them. Or ask on a reddit Spain forum.

    Creams, sprays, ointments... AGGGHH!

    This was very helpful, thanks!

    Creams, sprays, ointments... AGGGHH!

Above all that is my hope.

    Creams, sprays, ointments... AGGGHH!

I think that is part of my issue. Never having used anything for walking or day hikes I am not sure what will be useful or beneficial.

    Creams, sprays, ointments... AGGGHH!

With just a few weeks before I start my camino I have reached that phase where I am scouring this message board for any nuggets to help make the "perfect" camino. It's a bit overwhelming and probably not too helpful. :) But I have noticed a lot of messages about various creams and ointments...

Bed bugs and prep for the battle

Also a good idea to protect electronics that can't be washed or dried. Years ago I found a nymph crawling out of a crack in my Kindle. I now keep it in a Ziploc bag at all times.
