Thank you, Annie, for the encouragement. Something tells me that I need to do this if I am to avoid being forced out of walking. At this point I am not sure whether or not, walking makes the problem worse (I don't think so) or if walking is my salvation.

I will be walking from Figeac to Logrono for the second stage of my three stage walk from Le Puy to Santiago. The first stage taught me that I need to get periodic deep tissue massages in order to alleviate hip pain (deteriorating hip joint). Getting older sucks big time.

I agree with these. I stayed at La Margeride, friends stayed at Domaine du Sauvage while I walked on to Les Faux (not by choice - le Sauvage was full). I stopped for a coffee break in Le Gevaudan and thought it would be a great choice but I was walking further that day.
Silk liner is all I needed even though it was more than chilly at times, sometimes even that was too hot - but no worries on the Le Puy route - blankets are there for pilgrims who need them. :)
I have to say that I loved Estaing, especially as there was a medieval festival on when I walked passed it. My second choice would be Espalion, a bit bigger, more to offer. So many good places to choose. For more of a campground - rustic place, Golinhac would be the best choice (Swimming pool...

Hi all - what are your suggestions for the best stops for planned rest days on the Le Puy to SJPdP route? I am hoping to take periodic stops for some R&R along the way.
So far I have considered Conques and Moissac.
