The San Roque Bodeguilla restaurant in Compostela held various events throughout the year dedicated to the Camino de Santiago, and will commemorate 25 years of opening this year. Among the initiatives promoted is the inclusion on the menu of dishes from all regions through which the route passes in Spain.
The local owner, Javier Miguez, explained at a press conference on Wednesday that the restaurant intends, with this schedule, "to pay tribute" to the pilgrims who visit the city, and also the "varied cuisine" of Spain.
Thus, between January and July 2011, the restaurant will include samples of the cuisine of regions running along the French route, offering two weeks of each month the dishes of Aragon, Navarra, La Rioja, Burgos, El Bierzo, Mountain Lugo and finally the region of Compostela.
According to Miguez, as Santiago as such "does not have its own cuisine," the San Roque Bodeguilla will offer dishes from the provinces of A Coruña and Pontevedra as well. Also, throughout this time the restaurant will publish a book comprised of anecdotes and stories of their clients, and drawings made between gifts and stays in cottages.
Subsequently, in August, will be included in the restaurant's menu a selection of wines and sausages of various regions of Spain, and finally, in September, the restaurant will host a series of activities, as the host Compostela "close Compostela. About what kind of events scheduled, will be unveiled only included a concert.

The owner of the San Roque Bodeguilla also indicated some changes in the habits of visitors from outside Spain. In particular, Miguez has stressed that foreign tourists are now asking wines of Galicia, which "did not happen before," and that, in the latter Xacobeo, "it noted" that the pilgrims tried to spend less in the second half of the month
