Hi, I started last year in September from SJPDP and I'm returning this September again as it was amazing and the weather was just great Buen Camino
That's great to hear. Did you have much rain? Or very many hot days?

I will be walking the french route of the Camino around 14th of September 2016 from SJPP, who else will be walking around this time?
Hi Ryan! I leave Florida Sept 7th, land in Madrid the morning of the 8th and then head to SJDP. I plan to stop in Orrison to get my bearings, then make longer treks. Hope to see you and all these other fine folks along the way!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
8 September from SJPP
Eugene and Karin

I shall be setting out from Burgos on 2nd September and walking slowly towards Astorga. You will all probably pass me on the way. Look out for a slow English peregrina with a yellow/black mochila and a limp.

The calendar enabled us to contact other forum measures before we left and meet up with them in St Jean the night before we set off.
If it is your desire to stay at Orissin the first night ensure you reserve your accommodation early. 3 months in advance is not too early. They are very busy.
Regards
Gerard

Hi Pippi, the fear will go as soon you begin your journey. And September is a nice periode to walk according to my wife anyway she walked the Camino Frances in 2013 by herself .
Wish you a wonderful journey and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Hi Sara- we will also be leaving on the 20th and hope to see you. Where in Western Mass do you live? I lived in the Greenfield area for 30 years before moving to Florida. -Karen and Dave
Hi Karen and Dave,

I live in South Hadley now but also Northampton, Montague and Amherst over the years. I hope to see you, too! Where in Florida are you? -Sara

Thanks for the thread, I'll be leaving SJPdP on the 21st of Sept for my second Camino. Not gonna race this one, stopping to smell the flowers and meet new people. Taking time to enjoy the trek and not rush from Hostel to Hostel is a big part that I didn't know I missed until I arrived back home in California. See you guys then eh?

Hello, my friend and I will be starting from SJPDP on August 8th, but I will be staying in the area around Pamplona from August 16 until August 30th. The remainder of my solo hike will be in September! I'm hoping to make it Finisterre by the end of the month, fingers crossed.

Welcome to the forum, Jenny Ray. I have put you down for 30th August from Pamplona as that seems to be the best entry for the list. I guess that you would be most likely to meet people on the camino who passed through Pamplona around that time. I am sure you will have an excellent time. Buen camino

I will be a hospitalero in Samos for 3 weeks in Sept then commence my camino from Samos - Santiago - finisterre - Muxia - Santiago on 21st of September

Flights booked, looking forward to St. Jean to Santiago starting September 16th. Hope it's a bit warmer than Ben Nevis was last week.... and drier.

Wow! I considered beginning from Lourdes, but this is my first Camino and I was a bit nervous about finding my way, accommodations, etc. Is this your first Camino? Do you have any online resources for beginning from Lourdes that you could share? I would appreciate any info! Thank you!

Buem camino!

From Lourdes you can go to Oloron (three days) and then to Saint Jean Pied de Port and Roncesvalles; or turn left to Somport and Aragones. See guides in http://www.gronze.com/camino-piamonte (in Spanish) or http://vppyr.free.fr/ ) in French. Sorry, I don't know guides in English for this particular way.
The French Pyrenees are beautiful and have quieter ways, good before the more crowded experience of Frances (which, also, could be interesting).

I have put you down for St Jean at the moment. It is my second camino but first time for Frances. I see some very wise members have given you some links for starting at Lourdes.
For what it is worth, probably most first time pilgrims are apprehensive about many things. If one way is less worrying to you I'd chose that one. Buen Camino

I am starting from SJPP and spending the first night at Auberge Orisson after I arrive at 11:45 am on the bus from Pamplona. But I am having some trouble buying in advance over the internet a bus ticket from Pamplona to SJPP. Also can I change my user name from Pacoamigo to simply Clay?

Yes, my 1st Camino and a bit apprehensive, but when I first started looking seriously at this trip I wanted to include Lourdes and have just felt that the Aragones would be the best fit for me. The main reason to take the train to Oloron St Marie and start from there will be to save the 3 days in case I need them somewhere else along the way. Yes I've tried to research this and will forward any info that has not already been referred to by others.

Hi Sara- we now live in Sun City Center, south of Tampa. We spend our summers camping in Bellingham, MA to be near family. We are doing our best to train outside in the heat, but sometimes opt for the gym instead! We are stopping at Orrison on 9/20. Are you or are you walking straight through? Karen

Hi Karen, I'll be walking to Roncesvalles that first day. And I know what you mean about training in the heat--it's been pretty bad up here, too. But at least it inspires the practice of rising early to get some miles logged before it gets too oppressive. Is Orrison the only booking you have made thus far? -Sara

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

New to the forum, not sure if this is the right way to reply... I'm starting August 23 from SJPP, could you add me to the list? I see someone else listed on the same day, would love to connect ahead of time. Thanks!. Patricia
