Just introducing myself. My name is Nola & I'm 60+. I walked the Camino from St JPdP to Santiago in May June this year. It was the most awesome experience, despite the blisters, which didn't appear until the second week. I started off with my youngest brother who is 20 years younger than me, but did most of it "on my own". You can be as on your own or as sociable as you like on the Camino as there are always others you meet along the way. The last 7 days I walked with a lovely lady from the UK that I met over a cafe con leche one morning. I am already planning a return trip as every day I think of some little experience along the way and want to go back to enjoy it once more. Having previously trekked in Pakistan, Nepal and India, I have to say this was a most amazing adventure that I just can't get out of my head.

Hola Nola,
Welcome to the forum. Yes, it is a marvellous experience. Most people seem to spent their time planning the next one. As you mentioned the friendships you make, seem to be very special.
Happy planning for your next adventure.
Buen Camino

Welcome to the Forum! Your feeling is understandable: my wife and I live in Costa Rica, which is a bit nearer to the Camino de Santiago than Australia, but even so we had the same feelings when we walked the first time in 2008.
Since then we "collected" another 3 Compostelas, discovering more of ourselves and the world each time. The Camino is indeed and eye opener in many respects.
Enjoy your planning! Merry Christmas and a New Year "caminando"!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
