A selection of Camino Jewellery
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The Galician sea shows little mercy. Here's an interesting article about the Spanish women who harvest "percebes", and how skilled one has to be in order to navigate those rocks and massive swell. No place for unskilled pilgrims....

Sadly someone probably will do the same thing at some point, with hopefully the same results of safe rescue. The ocean couldn't care less about pilgrims, or any of us - and respect is not negotiable
I did the same thing, at one point; went swimming off that same beach at night. I lived to tell the tale, luckily without the embarrassment of having to be rescued (I'm sure his conditions were different).

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
Luckily the young pilgrim survived!
All praise to the rescue team.

A brief English explanation could help here, as not everyone has Spanish, nor awareness of the existence of Google Translate.

I guessed it was a near-drowning on that back beach at Finisterre due to having visited it, and also that tragedy of several years ago. The warning signs against swimming there are posted prominently, and for good reason. Even my hospitalero warned me about it. The water looks inviting, but can and does capriciously kill you.

Wisepilgrim has a PERSONAL SAFETY warning on the first stage of the VLDP leaving Seville, in particular the River Route to Santiponce. Has anyone had any issues on this route?
