Walking Camino for the first time as honeymoon this summer 2015
Hola a todos

We are deep in planning mode ahead of our first Camino this August on the Norte. Trying to plan some accommodation ahead in fear of bed races and struggling to find anything in or near Miraz - can anyone suggest anywhere at all or maybe it would be better to do that stretch 'on spec'?

Any advice much appreciated. We are so looking forward to it.

¡Buen Camino!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hotel Biterra about 7km off the path will collect and return you by car if you are prepared to stay there for two nights - €42 each night for a double. It also means you can walk the middle day without a pack. Phone is

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you both. That's great.

Widders,

I went through Miraz on my first camino a few months ago, 31 May. I had planned originally to go from Vilalba to Baamonde, overnight, and then Baamonde to Sobrado de Monxes due to availablity of beds. That would have made a 18.6 km stage and a 41.2 km stage, respectively. The owner/manager of the Hotel Santa Cruz in Ribadeo (Henri is his name and he knows the camino intimately having walked the del Norte many times) suggested I change the stages to : Vilalba to Miraz and Miraz to Sobrado, which I did, making the stages 34 km and 25 km respectively. It worked out wonderfully. There is an albergue that recently opened about 6 km before Miraz just outside of Carballedo I believe. The albergue in Miraz was wonderful. Very accomodating, neat and clean. There will be an additional albergue in Miraz opening soon, if not already open.
