Hi,
6 of us will be cycling from Burgos to Santiago in mid august. We hope to stay in small hotels. A budget of 35E approx each. I would be grateful for recomendations for the following towns. Leon, Rabanal del Camino,Villafranca del Bierzo, Portomarin and Santiago.

Is there a website with a comprehensive list of accom.

Can anyone tell me if it is necessary to book in advance in mid august

Thank you

Rabanal and Portomarin are smaller than the other places mentioned and especially in August it may be worth booking ahead. This is especilly true for Rabanal as there is little accommodation apart from the refugios and nothing else too near, The Posada Gaspar and Hostal el Refugio (not a refugio) are all there is though both nice. In Portomarin there is the Hotel Villajardin and others.

Roncesvalles or push to Burguete? I prefer to avoid the recommended stages to avoid the race for albergues. Do you suggest Burguete? Is Roncesvalles too busy?
