The stars aligned.... Late, and last minute. but the opportunity is there and so I am off soon. Unprepared in some ways but I am hoping familiarity with the Camino in general will help to some extent.

Hope you enjoy this beautiful way, I am hoping to walk it again in June if the Universe conspires with me...Buen Camino..
Is the weather that much different on the Invierno than the CF parallel to it? I certainly hope that is the cae for you.Oh, one last thing...
I am enjoying the experience. I am on the Camino! What's not to love?

Hi, B,All -
I really hope that I Am not disappointing anyone but I have been forced to bail on the Invierno.
Seven hours in rain, the last six was steady downpour yesterday. It overcame all my gear that has proven itself on prior Caminos.
Three complete changes of socks and no place to wash and dry in Medulas. The only place opening their door to a bed was the couple at Socorro.(good folks! He gave me ride back to Ponferrada just an hour ago.)
I figured it is not going to improve going forward so I made a sensible, if less adventurous decision.
Well, I was told that yesterday's continual downpour was most unusual. That said, it was enough to drench me and three complete sock changes as well as boots. Being unable to dry them would put my feet at serious risk that vaseline would mitigate only slightly. Is the weather that much different on the Invierno than the CF parallel to it? But again, will the weather be so different?Well, I was told that yesterday's continual downpour was most unusual. Facilities on the Frances are more numerous and closer together and so getting dry should be easier. The utter lack of open establishments, especially in Medulas, is in distinct contrast.
I would be happier of the snow than rain, it falls off more than it wets.
Well, statistically, precip in the high country on the Frances is more likely to be snow than rain. But again, will the weather be so different?
Thes, thank you. I was seeing the routes as parallel and close together so wondered why such a difference, but there are microclimates everywhere.Well, statistically, precip in the high country on the Frances is more likely to be snow than rain.
After Triacastela, I am guessing that they are closer in character, but the direction from which the front arrives probably matters as well.
Does that answer the question?
