Plan- Le Puy Camino (June 2013) Have -Camino Frances (2009)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I stayed at the Capuchin gite, no not run by the Capuchins but located on Capuchin street just up from the center of town. Friendly clean and on the Chemin. http://www.lescapucins.net/gite/
Do make reservations, Le Puy may be crowded as the season begins.

I stayed there too; a good place. They will also prepare a packed lunch on request -just the thing if you are freshly arrived and do not have the chance to provision.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
If you are looking for something up market ... I stayed at hotel du parc. They have a great restaurant apparently ... Unfortunately it was closed the nights I was there ... Sunday and Monday. Lovely staff and good breakfast.

there is a small hotel across from the railway station biz hotel very clean an friendly manager it is also near old town, secure garage available for bikes

I'm planning to take advantage of the opportunity to have some privacy without spending a lot.

Acceuil Saint Georges
21 euros for a single with breakfast.

I thought the only downside was that there was no possibility of buying a picnic lunch, but I just downloaded the latest version of Miam Miam Dodo to my phone, and lunch is a possibility.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I also stayed in the small hotel across from the railway station biz hotel very clean an friendly manager it is also near old town,it had a lock up in the garage for bikes with a pump and repair kit. Realy friendly staff when we were there, restraunt close by also. if staying and walking book your next night in advance as accommodation can be difficult if there are large groups walking. especially in the french section.

You have not mentioned the approximate time of your arrival and this can influence the choice of where to stay.

My wife and I arrived from Paris around 11pm, so we opted for a hotel, thinking gites may have buttoned up at this time of night. So do hotels, I later found. So if you go the hotel route, I would advise you to notify the hotel of your late arrival, should this be the case.

Depending on your budget, I noticed a few years ago a very interesting post by an experienced hiker on this forum. All credit goes to Newfy. Link is furnished below.

Proximity to the cathedral may be important if you plan to attend the pilgrim mass before heading out.

I am very interested in walking from Le Puy to St. Jean in July. I've completed several other Caminos, so I am afraid I'm a little too casual with my prep for this one. I going to spend the next...
Hi, Can anybody recommend a Gite in Gramat? There seem to be a good number of places to stay, but I would like something near the GR if that's possible. A place oriented toward walkers would be...
Hi! I'm new here and to the Camino, but trying to take advantage of a last minute opportunity to get off work for about 3 weeks including travel. I had hoped to do Le Puy to Cahors including the...
