Hi all.. My Wife and I have researched doing the camino from st jean to santiago for the last few years.... and now it has turned into reality.. After travel agents not coming up with what we where after....We have booked everything from flights from Australia to train tickets, luggage and items with advice from everybody on this forum <big thanks> we are leaving on may 25 from st jean and Im just concerned about accommodation along the hike to Santiago..I don't really want to book anywhere so we can get the full mystery of the camino ..Is this going to be possible to do this on these dates ?? thank you for any replies and suggestions

Hmm - we didn't book anything other than Orrison and San Martin and it all worked. But there were a few moments and we book everything after Sarria 3 days before arriving in Sarria. Are you planning on staying in Alburgues? If so you are probably okay.

That said, gor this year we have booked everything in advance so that we can walk later and not race to the next place.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

@Dennis Gemini Guru I think you will be fine. When I looked at the statistical chart that some clever forum member did (if I can find it I will post in under) the numbers leaving SJPDP dropped in June - there seemed to be a bit of a hiatus after the "wave" that leaves during the earlier part of May. So, as you are starting in late May, I think you will not find the route too crowded. When I walked last September, which is a crowded month, we had no trouble with finding accommodation. Occasionally we would have to go to a few different places (for example in Najera we hit a local festival and our first couple of choices were booked out) but we always found something. We used a mix of albergues and other accommodation.

During the last 100 km I do book ahead but usually only by a day.

Snoring (another post ...) After 4 days of seriously noisy snorers in albergues, I was getting increasingly drained during the day. At one point, I was thinking whether I can continue, whether I...
I wasn't sure I was going to post "live from the Camino" for this Camino. I'm happy to do so on my solo Caminos, but when I am walking with family, my focus is a little elsewhere and I am mindful...

I've been reading about the different routes etc and I have seen that the longest route is over a month, but also that some people just walk for a weekend or a few days or a week. I want to do a...
