Albergue San Ero in Armenteira reopening

For those planning to walk the Spiritual Variant, the albergue in Armenteira reopens this week. The Concello separately announced that stays during the month of July will be free.

According to news reports, there will be new management which is reflected by the new phone number. Hopefully the Camino apps and guides will be updated soon with the new information.

One major change not seen in this announcement, but mentioned in news accounts is that the number of beds is 20. One of the reasons for the new contract was the former operator for the Albergue was operating 32 beds, beyond the capacity authorized. Even with 32 beds, there were reports of the albergue being filled and turning pilgrims away. Another reason for the change in operators was that the former operator was serving a breakfast that was not allowed by the contract.

This is great news. Thank you for the update. Are there new contact details you’re able to share? The old WhatsApp contact suggests contacting the town hall, which seems inaccurate.

Update: I’ve just noticed your attachment!
