My son (19 years old, Australian and his four friends) are almost at Leon. They arrive tomorrow. Thanks to the fellow pilgrim who took a fantastic photo of the five of them at the halfway point sandstone sculptures!
He said the weather has gone from exceptionally hot out on the wheat fields to freezing early in the mornings and staying cold. Hardly any rain in the whole three weeks, just a bit of drizzle on the Pyrenees. They've only had to stay in a hotel once due to full albergues but they welcomed the real beds with sheets and the hotel was cheap enough anyway.
We keep in touch every day via Facebook messenger as every albergue has wifi and it's always good to hear the ping of his messages (even though they usually arrive at 1am
The poppies are all blooming and every single photo he sends takes my breath away.
Blessings to all of you
Kathy
