alternatives transportation from Pamplona to St. Jean

I've heard( but don't know the details) that some pilgrims arriving in Pamplona stay at an alburgue there and in the morning are taken to St Jean to begin their offical start . Does anyone have the details? The bus from Pamlona arrives in St Jean so late in the afternoon. I have reservations to stay in St Jean on 9/9/14 Thanks Rose
