Camino Portugues - May 2019
Hi Everyone,

After quite some fuss and hours of traveling, I’ve finally made it to Porto from Western Australia. I’m extremely tired but the time difference and excitement have kept me awake.

I have today scheduled as a grace day, to explore Porto and get my passport and first stamp organised. I begin walking on my very first Camino on Monday 10th 2019 which is tomorrow.

I’m very excited! Anyone else walking the same time?

Very envious in many ways, Gracie. Absolutely loved Porto when I was there a couple of years ago; have a year until I do my own first Camino; and am stuck in wintery Brisbane and not in Europe...
Have a wonderful Camino and do let us know how things are going so we can live vicariously 😉.
Cheers

Hello Gracie,
For your first stamp you could consider getting it at the cathederal.

Go in through the main door and on your right you should see a large table with someone sitting there. That's where you get your stamp.

Porto is beautiful. We did a Hop on, Hop off bus tour thing that included a river cruise and a wine tasting (Port - what else? :)).

Enjoyed the day a lot.

You have to decide whether to do the coastal route or the central route. Good luck with that decision!

We often say we would be happy to re-walk the Porto to SDC section again. But many others Camino's await!!

Cheers from Aus

Bom Caminho....I will be in Porto May 14th with a grace day before I start May 16th. May our paths cross.

Hi Gracie, I arrive at Porto airport on 6 August, then would need to stay over one night in Porto before I start walking the next day. What I need to do is book accommodation for that first night. Can you recommend an albergue close to the cathedral where I have to start the CP ?? I would really appreciate some advice on accommodation.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.
