I have walked now about 700 miles of Camino. I have been hurried along with a group and walked at my own pace...and you can guess what I enjoyed more. Its fun to poke around villages, stop for ice cream, pastries and of course beer. I still manage about 16k a day.

Are there any slow walking pilgrims planning to be on the Camino Ingles in May 2014?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I am an experienced long distance hiker who is rather long in the tooth and have achy knees. The times of 15-20 mile days are over. Starting on about April 30, I plan to hike (at a snail's or possibly a tortoise's) pace from Sahagun to Santiago. Perhaps we will cross trails.

Hmmmm, let me see. I can count on my fingers how many people I passed on the Camino, while the number that passed me is probably somewhere in the five-figure range. Does that make me a slow walker? But in answer to your question, I'm not planning to walk the Ingles in May 2014.

Buen Camino,
Jim

My wife a I are intending to walk the Inglès in May 2014.
We will come with our car and campingtrailer to Ferrol and walk from there to Santiago.
After finishing we go camping in Portugal to visit a lot of places we passed during our Caminho Portuges , earlier in May and June of this year.

If you check out our blog you will see that we took 9 days to walk the Inglés in May 2011. We would follow similar stages next time too.
Buen Camino
