Anyone doing the Camino End of October - November

Bueno Camino,
My friend and I are going to be doing the Camino from October end to November. We are still confused about packing lists. Should we carry a sleeping back, or just a sack ? And, do I need to book ahead at the Albergues ?

Thank you so much for your time,

Geeta

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

It will be getting chilly in late October and November, so you may appreciate the warmth of a sleeping bag. It does not need to be a heavy one; albergues have blankets, because they dislike turning on the heat!

You cannot reserve in most albergues, but you not have a problem finding a bed at that time of year. Some places close at the end of October, so calling ahead to ask what is open is a good idea. Do not rely on the representations on the internet about who is open and who is closed. They are generally not accurate!

Geeta,

Falcon is so right; Internet info is often inaccurate or out of date. However, hospitaleros at albergues which are open usually know who is also open on the next stretch. Notices are also often posted on various albergue doors and local barmen can be a great source of further info.

Buen Camino,

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
