We need to travel from Bilbao to Logrono on April 8th - there are five of us travelling from Ireland. Our flight arrives in at 17.00 approx.and I am wondering what is the best way to get there. We want to travel to Logrono that evening as we hope to start walking the following morning.

And for peace of mind, as you are 5, I would reserve beds in Logroño, especially when arriving late-ish. Buen Camino, SY

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I would not rule out the possibility of taking a taxi, even, if you split the costs between 5 of you, it might be worth it...

Another option would be to stay overnight in Bilbao and get the 6.30 am train to Logrono and then start walking straight from the train station. You'd be on the trail around 9.30 am. That's what I did last year. Check out www.renfe.com for train reservations. Whichever option you pick I would definitely recommend the train from Burgos back to Bilbao. By the way, the Bilbao train station to pick on the website is Bilbao Abando. Enjoy the trip!
