Bit of advice

Time of past OR future Camino

So here is a bit of advice for first time bikers if taking the trail. I am on the Camino now and have learned to slow down. Our first instinct is to ride as far and fast as you can. Luckily I realized after 3 days and a stomach bug to slow down. Don't plan your Camino on how far you can ride in a day. The last few days have been awesome because I stay in lower gears and stop often. That's it, wanted to put my two cents in. Also the wind can be daunting, so you may be pedaling more than you think.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi

thanks a mill for the above, we are planning on biking the camino in June.
any other info/advise you have would be very helpful :)
ie, the hardiest uphill parts were we can expect to cover less ground

Cheers :D

I found that there is some type of climbing everyday. So there seems to be some type of challenge everyday. Even in flatter terrain like the meseta(it's not really flat by the way). You can have a strong wind in your face and must pedal downgrade. To me it is easier in hilly terrain when shielded in the woods. Every river you cross will have a down and up. The important thing for me was to plan no more of a walking stage a day. Rain and mud on the trail can have walkers pass you and wear you out. If you are taking the highway then you can go further, but you can go down a highway anywhere.
