Time of past OR future Camino
walked the portuguese way (senda littoral). from porto, vila do conde via viana and redondela Jun 17
It looks as if I will need to cross from caminha to a guarda on a Monday when by all accounts the ferry does not Operate? Does any one know if this is the Case? If the ferry is not running I'd be interested to know what alternative routes people have used.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Here is schedule posted in old news article. The schedule may have been updated since but I doubt it.

Alternative is to take bus or CP train from Caminha to Valenca. Train is every 15 minutes. Rome2Rio shows 3 bus companies each running every 3 hours. Then cross the bridge to Tui on foot (recommended) or taxi. ATSA bus from Tui/Tuy to A Guarda (hourly). Allow half a day.

Here is Turismo A Guarda schedule for ferry

Here's some notes I gathered when I was planning my Portuguese, I hope this helps:

The ferry across Minho only runs when the tide is high. Here's a link to tides

Mario Goncalves, who can take you by boat, phone number is (00351) 96-341-6259.

The other gentleman who can take you by boat is Emidio Sebastian Nunes on (00351) 96-583-6998.

Don´t trust the ferry man...........NO FERRY ON MONDAYS! Ferry times are chanching because of low waters. To get the actual schedule use this link: https://telemarinas.com/horarios-del-ferry-la-semana-del-18-al-23-julio/
You will not find lunes > Monday!!

Sometimes they are one or two days late. For newest schedule use the search function up right an type Ferry. That´s all.

On Mondays or other days you can call the two fishermen : Mario Gonçalves, Tel.: +351 963 416 259 or Emidio Sebastão Nunes +351 965 836 998 You can ask for Mario o pescador at the camp site everybody knows him.
They charge 5 € per person to cross the river from Caminha to Camposancos. From Camposancos to A Guarda centre is a 3 kms walk.
