As far as games go, I would love to see a Camino version of Monopoly.
Brilliantly funny!Brilliant idea!
and instead of buying houses on each square you can buy Albergues....and once you have 5 Albergues you exchange them for a Parador Hotel.......
I was thinking about the railroads as the Camino Tour companies.Instead of going to jail, one gets an upper bunk. Chance cards give you an unecessary 7.2km detour out of Estella, or a snoring Saxon in the next bunk. Community chest can give you free orujo at the bar in Castrojeriz or a friendly cat in O Pino.
One could go on, but probably shouldn't.
Oh please do go on! I'm enjoying this immensely!!!Instead of going to jail, one gets an upper bunk. Chance cards give you an unecessary 7.2km detour out of Estella, or a snoring Saxon in the next bunk. Community chest can give you free orujo at the bar in Castrojeriz or a friendly cat in O Pino.

How many Camino Tour companies are there? I only know of 2. I must be oblivious to it all. Now luggage transfer services, that's another whole ball of shellsI was thinking about the railroads as the Camino Tour companies.
There are loads of them! One here in the UK would be happy to sell you a 7 night stroll from Sarria to Santiago for just CDN$2,700. Sound like a bargain? How many Camino Tour companies are there? I only know of 2.
PS I like your handle ... too many and too often. NEVER too often (unless you're speaking from your spouse's / pocket book point of viewThere are loads of them! One here in the UK would be happy to sell you a 7 night stroll from Sarria to Santiago for just CDN$2,700. Sound like a bargain?

She left me at home for ten months a few years ago while she travelled overland to Thailand and back again. With side trips to Japan and Korea and a few other interesting spots. That gives me a good starting point if there's any argument!PS I like your handle ... too many and too often. NEVER too often (unless you're speaking from your spouse's / pocket book point of view)
I'm going to get all of the La Rioja properties and start to build hotels. Mwahahaha! No, not Camino Monopoly! I don't want the entire Camino upturned by disgruntled players.
I'd rather there be a prize for Rioja wine and Vineyards!I'm going to get all of the La Rioja properties and start to build hotels. Mwahahaha!
I can just hear it now.... "and how many months have you spent on Camino exactly? She left me at home for ten months a few years ago while she travelled overland to Thailand and back again. Is your daughter an elementary school teacher? This technique is used to supplement many a classroom geography curriculum and other academic programs. So, my daughter is going to Barcelona for a work trip next week, and she has made up two big sheets with little square pictures of many of Barcelona's sites, one for each child. She will send back pictures every day and they will have to find the pictures on their sheets. They will both get bingo by the end of her trip and she will be bringing back their "prizes" from Barcelona.
And that got me thinking.... this would be a great thing to do with young 'uns left behind when a parent or grandparent is walking the Camino. It's so easy to get Camino pictures, and this could be a lot of fun!
