Hi all

Has anyone walked the Camino Catalonia?
There is a little information available but I would love the actually see a map.
I have walked a few caminos but was never aware of this one.
So, the things I would like to know about are time, distance, refugio availability etc.

I would appreciate any information/advice that may be out there.

Annie

Francese 2002, Cami San Jaume 2018, Norte 2023
There are two Catalan Caminos-- they split after a few days out of Montserrat and one goes through Lerida and Zaragossa up the Ebro Valley to join on to the Camino Francese at Logrono. The other heads NW up through Huesca and joins on to the Camino Aragonese in Jaca. Here is a brief note from the Confraternity's web site: http://www.csj.org.uk/route-cami-de-sant-jaume.htm

Each route has its own name.
Camino Catalán (470km - Montserrat to Logrono) starts at the Monastery of Montserrat, passes through Igualada, Cervera, Tàrrega, Lleida and Zaragoza on its way to Logroño on the Camino Frances. It is 470km from Montserrat to Logroño and a further 612km to Santiago from there. http://www.camidesantjaumeperatothom.cat

Cami de Sant Jaume - Variante de Huesca y San Juan de la Peña - 238km
This is a quiet, modern route from Barcelona or Montserrat that goes north-east to Huesca and Tárrega continuing to the Aragones route at at Sta Cilia de Jaca. http://www.amicsdelspelegrins.org/icatalans.htm

The other oute is the Camino del Ebro- 378km from Tortosa to Logroño
This was the route used by pilgrims from the Mediterranean (150km south of Barcelona) on their way to Santiago. It is the old Roman road that linked Tarraco to Astorga, and passed the Roman cities of Gracurris-Alfaro, Calagurris-Calahorra and Vareia-Varea, joining the Camino Frances at Logroño. The route is clearly signposted and is easy to follow.

Thanks Sil

I now have to decide which way I want to take but am leaning towards the Camino del Ebro.
I walk alone and am wondering about the practicality of doing this on the Ebro.
If there is anything more you can tell me about this way, I would appreciate it.
Thanks again.
