Camino del Norte in November/December

My name is Robert Mullen and I have for some years now spent part of my winters running the small pilgrim refuge in Miraz (between Baamonde and Sobrado de los Monjes.) I will be returning there as hospitalero from early in November until late December. If any Forum members are passing at that time, I can assure them of a warm welcome (although we have not yet completed installing central heating.)
In the meantime, to learn more about the village and the people there, have a look at my weekly blog: http://camino.findhornpress.com/.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hola Bob,

Welcome to the forum!

I am glad to see that the pilgrims will be well looked after in Miraz again this winter. I know I was when I went through.

I keep enjoying your stories every Friday on your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Greetings from the Rocky Mountains,
Jean-Marc

Hello, Jean-Marc. I should perhaps make it clear that the warm welcome in Miraz includes caldo gallego and a blanket. The autumn pilgrim should arrive with a two-season sleeping bag and something in the way of food for a second course.
The present plan is that the refuge will close at the end of the year so that the renovation work can be completed and the central heating system installed throughout. If all goes well, the refuge will reopen again in the spring, in time for Semana Santa.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
