Camino Finisterre - strange question

For reasons of accuracy and the fact that I’m obviously a bit anal, I want to know the exact km distance on this way marker on the DP-5603 road between Vilaserio and Cornado (Day 2 route fromNegreira to Olveiroa per Brierley guide book). I think it was 55.something km.

If anyone is able to assist then that would be very much appreciated. Thank you!IMG_7283.jpeg

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Those nice bronze plaques disappeared within weeks of installation. Any stated distance would have been quite arbitrary anyway given that the “0” kilometer marker at Fisterra isn’t in Fisterra nor is it at the lighthouse or on the rocks beyond. It was never clear where the datum was either though most of us probably assumed it was the Cathedral in Santiago it might have been the Turismo office on the Rua do Vilar

I’m sure Turismo Galicia would be able to tell what the inscription on the plaque was before it got melted down for bunce (unlawfully obtained money) but I don’t suppose for a moment that they will. The past is another country, they had different budget allocations there.

That particular way marker definitely had the km plaque on as at 23/10 when we sat having lunch beside it. I’m hoping someone may see this post who is due to pass this spot in the next day or so.

Thank you for saying this out loud! Always looked at it as a pure turismo gimmick, myself.... (But a very effective one, eh?!)

I've often winced when I've read someone ask where the 0km marker is in Santiago. It feels as if they have walked a very long way but missed the point entirely. It must have happened often enough that the cathedral felt the need to make this image the centrepiece of the homepage of the pilgrim office website! :)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

There are many strange questions..
A young lady a few weeks ago, after walking right across Spain, asked in earnest.. "The certificate, can I have the one with Jesus on it, please?"
