I do plan to walk my first Camino in May 2017
Hello,

I am a Canadian looking forward (thrilled really) to walking the Camino in less than 6 months. I found very useful information on this forum and I would like to thank all the members for their contribution.

Is there anyone else planning on walking the Camino Frances in May 2017?

@ Ian T: Great Ian! I need at least a little bit of planning though :)

@ Yellowfriend: Hi Yellowfriend! You will be a week ahead of me then. I didn't mention that my starting date is May 8 from SJPP.

Buen Camino everyone!

Greetings to: @LiliM; @Yellowfriend; & Others - looks like May 1st is a popular starting day. Since I am doing a bit of travelling in Nth France before the Camino I am having an extra day in St Jean - do all that repacking/reducing the load. I have booked accommodation at Orisson - so I get a short first day but basically from there its what ever comes, although I intend to avoid staying at Ronversvalles the second night. Cheers:)

Beautiful! Just out of curiosity, why would you avoid staying at Roncesvalles? Is it going to be too packed maybe? May 1st is indeed a very popular starting day :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
We will be starting in May as well but not sure the date... Buen Camino. Excited for you!!!!

Thank you! It seems like May/June is your favourite time for your Camino :) Did you get a lot of rainy days on your previous walks?

In June yes!! Mostly in Galicia....Just be prepared and it will be fine. There is always somewhere to get cover if you really need it. Buen camino

Hola Lili - I had a short look around the village last year and wasn't real impressed at the major albergue and if I am out of Orisson by 8.00 am I should be through Roncesvalles sometime after lunch (1.00 pm?) which will give me time to trek on to the next accommodation. So its just a personal choice.

I arrived in Roncesvalles early enough to walk on to Espinal, but I'm glad that I experienced the albergue in Roncesvalles.

Hello from Greece. I booked my flight to Paris and then train to saint jean pied de port on 03/5/2017. I arrived to Paris 09:00 on that day. You ?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

It is a personal choice, of course. Buen Camino!
