Hi Dream11
yes from Roncesvalles on 5 October with my wife Janine.
For me the second time, for Janine her first although we have done 4 others together.
Start slowly, aiming for just over 6 weeks.

So happy for you guys! Hope to see you. Did you walk before in October? Do I need a very cold weather clothing or just layers? Thanks

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-

If you are planning to cross the Pyrenees, provided it is open you must be ready for really cold weather. You may however be lucky as I have been in StJean twice in October and some days are sunny.
As you walk towards Santiago expect cold and snow. We will have a good shell and layers of icebreaker or similar tees plus thermal leggings and rain pants. Good for not only rain but warmth. Need a good beany for the head and sleeping bag.
You can see both a training program and packing list in “Backpacks, Boots& Blisters” available through Amazon.
Just put in the training and avoid excess weight. Make sure footwear is well broken in.
Buen Camino

Hello. So. I will arrive in Lourdes on the 29th September 2018 with my mother’s holy water and whatever practicalities I think to bring based on my reading here. I intend to start Camino on 1st October. I don’t yet fully understand how I get my pilgrim passport thingy or anything like that. I will hopefully find someone in Lourdes to help me. Failing that I will walk to St Jean Pied a Port and I’m sure someone will be able to help me there.

I’m not the most practically minded human being but I’m stubborn. I’m posting here now because I thought it would be wise to start to communicate rather than just consume on this site, now it is coming closer to the start of my Camino.
